At Century Calibrations, we believe in continuous improvement.  This phrase is usually associated with manufacturing and engineering enterprises but has application in other fields of endeavor.

To that end, we are instituting an End of Month (EOM) due date policy for all customers.  This will apply to the labels (or stickers) technicians adhere to equipment as well as to Certificates of Calibration (CoC).

This policy will streamline the paperwork process for our technicians and create windows of opportunity for our customers.  Labels and CoCs will have a more simplified look.

In general, EOM allows for flexibility in scheduling calibration services by allowing these services to be performed sometime during the month stated, rather than a specific date within that month.

We will provide updates as we continue our efforts to become more efficient and effective in our calibration services and supporting activities.  Customer service is now and will remain our number one focus.

Thank you for your support as we move forward with this policy.

WE REMAIN OPEN TO SUPPORT OUR CUSTOMERS

On March 23rd, 2020, Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb issued a state-wide order to stay at home, going into effect March 25th at midnight and lasting until April 7th.  Changes could be made to the length of this order at the Governor’s discretion, depending on if the situation warrants it.  This is in response to the Covid-19 global pandemic.  The governor’s order gives the ability of certain critical infrastructure businesses to stay open and continue business as usual.

Century Calibrations (Century Labs II) fits the definition of an essential business laid out in the “Memorandum of Identification of Essential Critical Infrastructure Workers During COVID-19 Response".  This memorandum was issued by the Department of Homeland Security.  The link to the memorandum can be found on the Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Agency (CISA) page of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security website at https://www.cisa.gov/publication/guidance-essential-critical-infrastructure-workforce

Century Calibrations customers include, but are not limited to, the medical, food, government, security, energy, chemical, and defense industries.  Our calibration and repair services help ensure our customers are using accurate equipment, as defined by ISO 17025.  Because of this, we remain a critical part to the infrastructure of the United States.

Hello Friends and Customers!

Here at Century Calibrations we are always striving to be efficient and effective at providing the best in calibration services.

We would like to announce our move from an older, limited database system to a new, cloud-based software.  We envision swifter turn time on certificates and other documents.  In the months to come we will also offer client portal so customers will be able to request services and view certificates among other available features.

As with any new endeavor, this move will include a learning curve for us at Century Calibrations as we do away with old database habits and learn new ones.  We ask for your patience as we work through these changes.

Most customer’s accounts will move to the new software system October 1, 2019.  Those customers on our Tuesday route schedule will move over during November due to the speed of services.

Thank you for choosing Century Calibrations for your calibration requirements!

We had a drawing for an Amprobe AMB-45 Megatest-1 for those who added their business card to our bowl.  The winner of the Megatest-1 was an ITen Industries representative.

We would like to thank any of you that visited the EASA Convention in Milwaukee, WI this past June for stopping by the Century Calibrations display .  It was a pleasure to meet so many new people and see the different exhibits and displays.

As our many customers already know, we offer ISO 17025 accredited certificates of calibration for many types of equipment including (but not limited to) oscilloscopes, multimeters, dielectric test sets, thermocouples/thermometers, IR instruments, etc.  For a complete list, feel free to visit our website at www.CLC2.com.  Equipment not on our scope will receive an N.I.S.T. certificate.

Century Calibrations associates recently participated in the Blue Star Mothers golf outing where Century Calibrations was a hole sponsor.  We began backing this worthwhile association for veterans in 2016 and plan to continue our sponsorship in the future.

The Blue Star Mothers have been in existence, nationally, since 1942, and the Fort Wayne Area chapter was chartered in August 2008. The golf outing assists the Fort Wayne Area Blue Star Mothers with funds to send care packages to military members who may otherwise not receive packages. We also support local Veteran Shelters such as Liberty Landing, Shepherd’s House, and Richard Lugar Safe Haven. Additionally, we support the Northeast Indiana Honor Flight, VA Hospital, and local Veteran Retirement Homes. All of this is possible because of donors like you.      http://www.fortwayneareabluestarmothers.com/

The International Standards Organization (ISO) has/will be making changes to ISO 17025 requiring certificates of calibration to include before and after data.  Previously, this was an option selected by our customers if needed.

Due to this change, our prices will need to be restructured.  Our goal with the change in ISO requirements is to keep costs for our customers as low as possible.  Each unit will be reviewed and we will do our best to retain pricing where feasible however some prices will of necessity be adjusted.

We expect the new price structure to be in place at the beginning of 2018.  Any price contracts in place before October 1, 2017 will be honored at the current levels.

Century Calibrations began in July of 1992 as Century Labs with several partners.  A quarter of a century later in July of 2017, Century Calibrations is happy to celebrate many changes over the years.

After being located in various spaces, we are proud to have purchased our current building for a permanent home.  We celebrated with an Open House on June 30, 2017.  We gave away grab bags of goodies and lots of food despite the rainy afternoon.

One of the founding partners, Robin Bork, became sole proprietor in 2011.  In 2015 the company officially began doing business as Century Calibrations.

We said goodbye to a long term employee of more than a dozen years, Wayne Bartlett, who retired at our open house.  Wayne had previously provided Logistics and Delivery services.  Wayne and his family are moving to Washington State to be with their children.

Chris Book (Lab Manager) was commemorated for his 20 years of employment with Century Calibrations and we welcomed new Century Calibrations associates, Tonya Ashford (AP/AR), Brett Kelly (Quality Assurance), and Terry Bork (Logistics).

To complete the team of the Century Calibrations we have Jonathon Norton (Technician), Patrick McCarty (Senior Technician), Christian Baer (Hipot Technician), Steve Earley (Pickup/Delivery Driver), and Saadia Mead (Business Manager and Scheduler).

At about the same time, we were featured as a Preferred Vendor for ShowHauler Trucks (page 48) in the June edition of Business Viewmagazine (pages 52 & 55).  The June edition also featured Thor Motor Coach (page 56), another valued customer. (click here to view the magazine)

At a reception for the six NE Indiana high school students selected to attend their chosen Service Academy, Marlin Stutzman recognized Century Calibration’s own Wayne Bartlett and posted this little blurb and image on Facebook. (June 7, 2016)

Marlin Stutzman: “I want to recognize Wayne Bartlett, who has been our Academy Chair for the past 21 years. Through his passionate work, he has positively affected some 350 students seeking appointments to the military academies. Last night we were able to honor his years of service, but it’s still not enough. Thank you so much sir for all the lives you have changed.”

The seven-member committee that Wayne chairs, chooses from high school graduate applications to make recommendations to the Congressman. Students must be nominated to attend the Service Academy of their choice.

Wayne is retired Navy and has worked for Century Calibrations since 2004. At Century Calibrations, we highly value our service members whether retired, reservist, or active duty. Army, Navy, and Marine Corps are represented within our employee ranks.

Congratulation Wayne! And, Thank You to our Service members for your service to our country.
